About
Gotta Go YQL
Access to public washrooms is a public health issue and an important part of an age-friendly and accessible community. We all need to use a washroom throughout the day – each with different needs and varying degrees of urgency.
The GottaGoYQL toilet map indicates the location of public washrooms across the City of Lethbridge and the diversity of their amenities. By “public” washrooms, we mean washrooms that members of the public can use without needing to be a customer or paying for a service. In short, this map shows you where to go when you’ve gotta go. In addition to location, you can also see information about whether the washrooms are gendered, their accessibility features, the availability of a change table, and more.
The map was created by researchers in Public Health and Geography at the University of Lethbridge (Drs. Julia Brassolotto and Philip Bonnaventure and Research Assistants Brianna Rogers and Zeeshan Hamayun) with support from Output Media. Special thanks to Marcus Dostie for technical support with the GIS mapping. Our goal was to create an interactive map that enables Lethbridge residents to plan their outings without fear of being stuck without a [suitable] washroom.
